It goes without saying that over here on Jimmy Brews we're passionate about everything beer! However, another beverage I'm equally passionate about is coffee, moreover the amazing Kokebi Coffee which for the last few months I've been working alongside and sipping through Arabicas from Ethiopia to Robustas from Rwanda!
This brings me to an exciting collaboration announcement between Overtone Brewing Co and Kokebi Coffee, of which about two months ago I had presented the idea to both to create a decadent Coffee Stout.... Now the time has come to officially announce that 'Vanilla Froth' is about to hit the shelves from next week!
Vanilla Froth is a smooth and creamy stout brewed with bourbon Madagascan vanilla pods, lactose and freshly ground Kokebi Coffee's Super Crema blend. Super Crema’s perfectly balanced combination of 50% Arabicas and 50% Robustas preside notes of roasted nut and dark cocoa, complimented by the sweetness of the vanilla and added lactose in this beautiful stout.
This decadent borderline Imperial Stout will weigh in at a delightfully strong 9.0 ABV and is served up in 440ml cans, keeping this beer as fresh as the day it left the brewery. If you’re not familiar with beers at this strength, they are intended for sipping, are very dark, almost black, boasting rich, deep flavours ranging from sweet to tart.
What also adds the tart and bitter flavour profile to this beer are the added Magnum Hops, possessing subtle aromas of black pepper, nutmeg and a touch of citrus. Magnum is highly regarded for its ‘clean aroma’, and is thus a versatile hop used for its bittering properties.
